For sprouting and growing plants, not natural, but processed peat with the appropriate pH, amount of fertilizers and other components is used. Such substrates are the most effective growing medium – they retain moisture well, are fluffy, light, porous, and it is convenient for plants to take root in them.
Substrates containing dark peat contain more humic and fulvic acids, thus stimulating the development of plant roots more, and dark peat retains moisture and nutrients better.
For the cultivation of seedlings, it is necessary to choose substrates with a fine structure, depending on the climatic conditions, technology and cultivated plants, it is best to choose a mixture with dark and light peat. Light peat is more porous and when mixed with dark peat provides the best air permeability and water absorption.
